SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS after yesterday’s game gave the roster a little trim.

They cut six guys after Sunday’s game. Pitchers Clayton Blackburn, Joan Gregorio and Chris Stratton were optioned, and first baseman Kyle Blanks and pitchers Samuel Coonrod and Matt Reynolds were re-assigned. Blanks actually hit a home-run Sunday giving the Giants 12 home runs in six games.

Jake Peavy is in town for a few days, hosting a private musical gig for wounded Marines from San Diego through his foundation. The Marines were introduced on the field before Sunday’s game.

MORSE goes deep twice in Sundays hit fest!

“It felt good. It felt really good,” said Morse, who has said he will retire if he doesn’t make the team out of Spring Training as a non-roster invitee. “I hit it hard. It was only a matter of time before I started connecting. I feel like my swing is pretty good. I like where it’s at.”
