I won’t insult you by assuming that you don’t know that today was the last day in  Arizona for our beloved  SF Giants. It wasn’t a good game,we lost to Kansas City 7 to 4.

So I really don’t think we need to go upsetting ourselves with any gory details. Now do we?

I know I don’t need to me remind you, the game didn’t count. I am looking forward to the games that DO count, aren’t you?

MARTIN LAIRD WINS THE ARNOLD PALMER INVITATIONAL

It is being referred to as the “TOURNAMENT NOBODY WANTED TO WIN”

My dad says “the Brits” are taking over golf but it’s kind of confusing because they call Laird “the Scotsman” when referring to him as ” Britain’s Martin Laird” Whatever!

But all we girls need to know is who won.

 (Britain’s)Marin Laird beat (Americas)Steve Marino by only one stroke!

and who didn’t

Tiger Woods finished 24th or something horrible like that

Here’s what you need to know: Jeff Gordon did not win.

Kevin Harvick passed Jimmie Johnson in the last lap for the win!

BASKETBALL

THE FINAL FOUR

Hopefully you didn’t have to follow too closely until now.

The sweet sixteen is over it is now what is refereed to as “THE FINAL FOUR”

Here’s what you need to know;

It is now down to four teams, they are all college teams so don’t expect to see any familiar names like the Warriors or the Lakers.

The four teams remaining are:

KENTUCKY
CONNETICUT
VCU
BUTLER

Nobody I know really has a strong preference in who wins as there are no West Coast Teams among them. I myself can’t pick a cute guy because there are too many to look at plus I could have an age issue, no, that would be silly.

*Special note (this should score you some points)
There may be some talk about the fact that “no 1st or 2nd seed teams” are in the final four and apparently this hasn’t happened in “blankity blank years”

Here’s where you can come off as knowledgeable.
A Seed is a kind of ranking. In the College Basketball Playoff’s known as “March Madness” there are “brackets” this is complicated even for some guys but what you need to know is that for each “bracket” there is a team that is the #1 “Seed” basically the best team in their bracket.

Well of the best teams (or #1 Seed) from all brackets none of those teams made it to the final four. So the best team from each bracket has already been eliminated from the playoffs.  I guess this is not a common occurrence so you may hear it mentioned and when you do you will know what they are talking about.
